Who owns the account? Logins, payouts and security with an OnlyFans agency

Your OnlyFans account is the business: the subscribers, the message history, the vault and the payouts. An agency may need to work inside it, but the ownership, the login email, the second factor and the payout details should stay yours, because OnlyFans holds you responsible for the account either way.

Key takeaways

  • Under the OnlyFans Terms, someone helping you run the account doesn't change your legal responsibility.
  • OnlyFans excludes liability for compromised accounts and the withdrawals that follow, so a breach is your loss.
  • Keep the account, the login email, 2FA and the payout bank account in your name. No agency should change them.
  • Any access you give should be revocable today, without asking the agency.
  • An audit or a sales conversation should never need your login.

Why access is the first question

A BBC investigation from June 2026, reported by IBTimes UK, found that UK creators' managers were often given logins and payment tools, and that exit clauses made leaving hard. Put those together and you get the worst version of this relationship: the agency controls the account and the money, and you need its cooperation to leave.

For a new account, that's a risk. For an account that already earns, it's leverage over your income. Everything you've built sits behind one login: subscribers who renew, top spenders who know your tone, years of messages, a vault of paid content. Whoever controls access controls all of it.

That's why access belongs at the start of the conversation with any agency, before commission and before the growth plan.

What the OnlyFans Terms say

The OnlyFans Terms (last updated August 2024, checked September 2026) are clear on three points:

  • Responsibility stays with you. If someone else assists you with the operation of your creator account, "this does not affect your legal responsibility."
  • Compromised accounts are your problem. Among the matters OnlyFans excludes from its liability are lost, stolen or compromised accounts, passwords and email accounts, and any unauthorized activity or withdrawals that result.
  • The account can go. OnlyFans says it may suspend or delete an account with 30 days' notice, at any time, for any reason.

So if an agency breaks the rules in your name, it's your account at risk. If it loses a password to a phishing email, the platform won't make you whole. And an OnlyFans spokesperson told Reuters, as quoted by Top Class Actions, that the platform isn't affiliated with and doesn't endorse any third party or agency. There's no platform-approved agency to hand your keys to.

What stays yours, no matter what

ItemWho holds itWhy
Account ownership and ID verificationYouThe account is legally yours, and so is the responsibility
Login email and its passwordYou, on a mailbox only you controlWhoever controls the email can reset everything else
Two-factor authenticationYou, on your own deviceIt's the last line of defense when a password leaks
Payout bank accountYou, in your nameThe money should reach you before anyone takes a cut
Tax and payout detailsYouThey're tied to your identity, not the agency's
Content originalsYou, backed upProof of ownership for takedowns, and a restart if something goes wrong

None of these is something an agency needs in order to do its job. If one asks to change them, for convenience or to set things up properly, the answer is no.

What an agency may need, and how to limit it

A team that chats, schedules posts and sends PPV has to work inside the account. That's normal. The terms of that access are what matter:

  • Hands off the keys. The agency never changes the email, the password, 2FA or the payout details. Put that in the contract.
  • You can always log in. Any time, without asking, and you see everything the team sees.
  • Named people. Ask who at the agency will have access, from where, and how access is removed when someone leaves the team.
  • Known tools. Ask which third-party tools will connect to your account and what data they store.
  • Revocable today. You should be able to cut access in minutes, without the agency's cooperation.

Access for an audit is a different matter. To judge whether an account is leaving money on the table, an agency needs numbers, not a login. Screenshots of your stats are enough. An agency that asks for your password before you've even agreed to work together is showing you how it will treat the account later.

Payouts: where the money lands first

Payouts are the clearest test of an agency relationship. In the clean setup, OnlyFans pays out to your bank account and the agency invoices you for its share afterwards. You see every dollar before anyone else touches it.

In the other setup, payouts go to an account the agency controls and it transfers your share. You're then trusting its accounting every month, and if the relationship ends badly, it's holding the money. The BBC reporting on managers holding payment tools describes exactly this risk.

Keep the payout method in your name and don't let anyone change it. What the commission on your invoice should look like, and on which base, is covered in how much OnlyFans agencies take.

Security habits once a team is involved

More people near an account means more ways in. Because OnlyFans excludes liability for compromised accounts, these habits are your insurance:

  • Unique passwords. One for the account, a different one for the login email, both in a password manager only you control.
  • Codes stay with you. Never forward a 2FA code or a password reset link to anyone, including your agency. If a team member asks for one, the setup is wrong.
  • Treat support messages with suspicion. Anything that asks you to log in through a link, confirm payout details or verify your identity gets checked at the source, not through the link.
  • A monthly check. Put a reminder in your calendar: login email, 2FA device and payout details, all still yours.
  • An access list. Who has access, since when and through which tool. When someone leaves the agency's team, ask for written confirmation that their access is gone.

The exit test

A simple way to judge any setup: could you remove the agency today, in ten minutes, without their help? Walk through it:

  1. Change the account password from a device only you use.
  2. Change the password of the login email and check its recovery options.
  3. Confirm that 2FA runs on your device and nobody else's.
  4. Confirm the payout details are still yours.
  5. Remove any third-party tools the agency connected.
  6. Collect your content, reports and anything else the contract says you get back.

If any step needs the agency's cooperation, fix it now, while the relationship is good.

If you're already with an agency that holds the keys and you plan to switch, reverse the usual order. Secure the login email, the 2FA device and the payout details first, check that nothing else points to the agency, and only then send your notice. A notice sent while someone else controls your email puts your income in their hands for the length of the notice period.

The contract side of leaving, including notice periods and commission after exit, is in the OnlyFans agency contract checklist. For the full vetting list, see how to choose an OnlyFans agency.

How CreatorsHub handles access

  • You keep the login. You stay owner and admin around the clock. Log in whenever you want and watch the work happen.
  • You get paid first. Payouts go from OnlyFans straight to your bank account. We send an invoice after the money is yours.
  • No access to apply. The digital audit is three screenshots and two minutes, with no account access.
  • You can leave. With written notice. It's in the contract, and you can read the contract before you ever book a call.

FAQ

Should I give an OnlyFans agency my password?

A team that chats and posts for you has to work inside the account, but it should never control the login email, two-factor authentication or payout details. You should be able to log in and revoke access at any time.

Who is responsible if an agency breaks OnlyFans rules on my account?

You are. The OnlyFans Terms say that someone assisting with your creator account does not affect your legal responsibility.

Will OnlyFans cover losses if my account is compromised?

The Terms exclude OnlyFans liability for compromised accounts, passwords and email accounts, and for resulting unauthorized activity or withdrawals. Protecting access is your job.

Where should my OnlyFans payouts go when I work with an agency?

To your own bank account, with the agency invoicing you afterwards. If payouts go to an account the agency controls, you depend on its accounting every month.
